Gift Necklace

Two weeks ago in church a friend admired my necklace, it looks way different than this one, but the style is the same. So I gathered up all the bits of things in my stash and made her this one. She is a tad bit shorter than me, so hopefully the dangles won't bang on her knees.... I can hardly wait to see in on her.

Mango Tea Box Progress

The Mango Tea Box is now a rusting hulk of what it used to be. A good thing!!! Maybe it needs more of something but don't know what it is yet. Fibers? Wire? Needs some thought.

Mango Tea Box

The little Mango tea box was a fun challenge. First I wanted it to look like metal and not wood anymore. There were so many possibilities in the stash.

First I painted it "Licorice Black", added the embellishments, and painted them also. After a thorough drying, everything was silky black. Then it was finished off with some metallic rubs. It still needs some work, and added embellishments. By posting it, I will be more apt to finish!

In Progress

It has taken more time to get this far than I imagined. The green chest is now a delightful gold and black, the colors of a little girl's school. :) Adorned with lots of treasure goodies; I hope she likes it. The note cards are made from napkins with coffee beans on them, ironed onto card stock and then more ART added. They will make a nice gift for some coffee drinker. The little silver purse is under construction at the moment. Proving to be a challenge. I am trying to think of new ideas for the other two boxes.

Today's Choices

Today is going to be an art day.... these are the choices I made from the stash of materials and the ideas swirling in my head. Hope to have a good time, make some ART and maybe a gift for the upcoming holiday. :)
